£100,000 from the Wolfson Foundation
It's with great excitement we announce our digital technology department has been awarded £100,000 from the Wolfson Foundation (https://www.wolfson.org.uk/).
The money was granted to enhance and expand our current computing, STEM provision and outreach to the community.
The money is being used to create a new Webb STEM Learning Hub, two multi-purpose digital suites that increases our capacity for computing courses and extracurricular activities.
From September all students studying computing at Ferndown Upper School will have unsurpassed physical computing and digital provision in lessons to help us Engineer Future Innovators.
With this provision we now will be expanding our fernDOWNLOAD programme to include fernDOWNLOAD Challengers, a club taking part in the FIRST LEGO LEAGUE and the fernDOWNLOAD Coders, a sixth form extra-curricular initiative to take part in national Raspberry Pi coding & design competitions.
